So what's the story behind the consumer tax credit that everyone's talking about?

Great question!
As part of the Economic Stimulus legislation, biomass stoves purchased during 2009-2010 will* be eligible for a tax credit, provided the unit meets the qualifications in the act.

Great news!
Based on this information, many of our Englander, Summers Heat and Timber Ridge Pellet and Multi-Fuel models qualify for the tax credit, based on their efficiency and design.

What is a Tax Credit, exactly?
Consumers claim the credit on their federal income tax form at the end of the year. The credit then increases the tax refund or decreases the amount the taxpayer has to pay, dollar-for-dollar; whereas, tax deductions simply lower your taxable income. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.

--- There's no better time to purchase your stove, because installation is also covered!* ---

And, we're a U.S.A. company, so your purchase of these American-made products ensures that you receive a quality product, while supporting the Recovery Act and protecting American jobs.

You'll need to print & keep the certificate on file (also keep the original dated store receipt) for your credit. You don't need to send it in with your tax return, but you do need to retain it for "tax recordkeeping purposes."

*See www.irs.gov/pub/irs-drop/n-09-53.pdf or www.hpba.org for more information, including details on qualifying installation, and more.
